ABSTRACT

Parents are more likely than teachers to be concerned about the musically gifted. Their child has begun to have piano lessons and has made exceptional progress, or even without lessons has begun to pick out tunes on an instrument. Is he or she musically gifted and what should the parents do about it? Alternatively after a period of time, their son or daughter has shown remarkable progress and ability on an instrument; what action should parents take to ensure that the development continues?
