ABSTRACT

Dr. Sargent was born in 1904. She received the M.A. degree in 1934 and the Ph.D. degree in 1944 from Northwestern University. Before going to the Winter V.A. Hospital in Topeka as Chief Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Kansas, she taught at Northwestern University, where she was also Assistant Director of the Psychological Clinic, from 1932 to 1943, and consultant to the Family Service of Evanston, the Evanston public schools, and the Northshore Health Resort. She is a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology of the American Board of Examiners in Professional Psychology and a Fellow in the American Psychological Association. She is best known for her critical review of projective methods which appeared in the Psychological Bulletin in 1945 and for her monograph, “An Experimental Application of Projective Principles to a Paper and Pencil Personality Test.” At present she is at work on a revision of the Insight Test and a manual for its use which will appear in book form.
