ABSTRACT
Throughout this study we have attempted to deal with the problem of the presence of the Mesopotamian Ubaid culture in northeastern Arabia as an example of interaction between two physiographical and, presumably, cul tural regions. The particular mechanics of the relationship were explained as having been rooted in specific ecological-cultural adaptations of the pre historic populations in east Arabia.
