ABSTRACT
Throughout this study we have attempted to deal with the problem of the presence of the Mesopotamian Ubaid culture in northeastern Arabia as an example of interaction between two physiographical and, presumably, cultural regions. The particular mechanics of the relationship were explained as having been rooted in specific ecological-cultural adaptations of the prehistoric populations in east Arabia.
