ABSTRACT
‘I am a bit awkward. Some of the kids say I walk funny and talk like a numpty. I am always tripping up in class or knocking things off the desk. Some laugh at me, some get angry and thump me, especially if I touch their bags. One teacher thought I did it on purpose and shouted at me. At primary school my parents were called in to see the teacher because I couldn’t fasten my shoe laces, tie my tie or even fasten the buttons on my shirt, it was embarrassing. I find the work in class easy but they have put me in bottom sets because I can’t keep up with the work and my writing’s really scruffy. The others pick on me and call me stupid, it makes me so annoyed. I try to hit them but I am too slow, so I throw their books off the desk instead. I’m always getting into trouble. I want to do well in school but nobody cares so I think, why bother.
