ABSTRACT

Interior in June 1933, and a year later an attempt was made to set up a centralised public-health administration, but its remit was challenged at every turn by the rival party agencies. The Reich Labour Front, for instance, claimed responsibility for industrial health, while Himmler, in his role as head of the police and SS, showed a growing interest in racial and eugenic policies and established the Reich Central Office for the Combating of Homosexuality and Abortion (for healthy Aryan women only of course!).
