The contemporary policy of the USA and its allies can be labelled ‘excessive repercussions [or overreactions]’. This means that the world is now in an extremely dangerous, critical period which can lead to a new world war. The hopes of nuclear deterrence and certain nuclear annihilation serving as factors to prevent war may prove to be fatal illusions . . .
