ABSTRACT
President Reagan had many shortcomings; his administration had its share of crises and disasters and the final record of achievement was, at best, mixed. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that Ronald Reagan was one of the most successful presidents of modern times. He met the challenges of presidential power better, and was therefore more effective in office than, perhaps, any president since Roosevelt.
