ABSTRACT
Written in Nbk 10, perhaps in March 1819. The lines suggest a public performance; according to Mary Jnl (i 255; cp. Claire Jnl 104) S. heard the Miserere in the Sistine Chapel on 30 March 1819, and as he was also reading Plutarch on that day he possibly read Plutarch during the performance.
