ABSTRACT
This chapter will address key points and questions that you are most likely to be
confronted with as you move through the validation process at the end of your
training pathway. It will cover the generic aspects of EYPS validation, including the
Development Review, preparing for the written tasks and preparing for the setting
visit. Candidates should note that training providers work within geographically
organised consortiums, and each consortium may choose to carry out the speci-
fied activities in different ways. This is a major change from the programme that
ran between 2007 and 2011, where the processes for validation were nationally
standardised. This chapter is therefore only a general guide, and you are urged to
contact your provider if you have questions relating to the exact format of pro-
cesses such as the specific structure of the written assignments/tasks (different
centres may refer to them as one or the other), or a breakdown of the assessment
visit processes.
