ABSTRACT
This chapter will give an overview of the various stages that a researcher will go through when planning a research study. This, sometimes known as the ‘research process’, involves several stages of careful planning and implementation of plans. The chapter is designed to give a source of quick reference rather than to be a definitive guide as to how to do research. However, it is anticipated that by the end of the chapter you should be able to give a broad outline of the research process.
