ABSTRACT

After the initial care post birth regular examinations are undertaken. • Read notes and birth summary. • Wash hands and put on apron. • Consider mental wellbeing – talk about how the woman is

feeling/coping. • Observe the woman for general wellbeing – does she look

pale, tired, unwell. • Take vital signs – BP, pulse, respirations and temperature

(the frequency of future recordings will depend on maternal condition and trust policy).
