ABSTRACT
It is useful for teachers to think about their students as problem solvers and to use those words with their students during instruction. However, based on the development, prior experience and mathematical readiness of the students, teachers witness various types of problem solvers within one class. In order for teachers to create appropriate experiences during the school day for these various learners, they should identify the type of problem solvers they have in their class.
