ABSTRACT

Australia is a large country approximately equal in geographic area to the United States, with a population of approximately 23 million.1 Extensive immigration has made Australia culturally diverse, with nearly half the population having at least one parent born overseas.2 Indigenous Australians make up only 2.4 per cent of the total population.3
