ABSTRACT

It is one of the qualities of an ensemble musician, which are admirable and for me always difficult to comprehend, to endure a constant contradiction: the contradiction between the great and even physical intensity, which is expected from the individual in the interplay with other musicians along with the highest levels of focus, concentration and virtuosity, and the abstraction demanded of him, since he can’t gain a true overview from his own position as a performer of the sound as a whole, the overall impression, the structure of the composition and ultimately the success of the performance.
