ABSTRACT
Musical theatre, like most forms of theatre, is fundamentally about storytelling. That means the basic elements we find in classical, modern and contemporary drama are also present in musicals. We meet distinct characters that engage us in a compelling story, rich in conflicts, themes and action; all played out through interesting dialogue. This is true from Aristophanes to LaBute to Berlin to Manuel-Miranda.
