ABSTRACT

New Zealand is a Pacific island nation which is comprised of two main islands called North Island and South Island. New Zealand is similar in size to the UK, but its population is considerably smaller, with only 4.4 million New Zealanders inhabiting the islands. Of these 4.4 million, the vast majority live on the North Island where the most populous cities are, with only 1 million people living on the South Island. Despite this, the eight universities in New Zealand are fairly evenly spread between the two islands, with three universities having campuses on the South Island.
