ABSTRACT
This chapter considers video as action within interactive sequences involving talk and camera movement in TV production. Based on video-recorded live production of a series of French studio interviews, it focuses on how camera operators move their cameras in conventional ways to achieve locally relevant actions. The focus here is thus rather on the handling of the camera as reconstructable through the shot it produces than on the filmed reality as represented in its shot.
