ABSTRACT
The area of constructivism, in the fi eld of learning, comes under the broad heading of cognitive science. Cognitive science is an expansive area. It has its roots in the fi rst half of the twentieth century, at a time when academics from the disciplines of psychology, artifi cial intelligence, philosophy, linguistics, neuroscience and anthropology realised that they were all trying to solve problems concerning the mind and the brain.
