ABSTRACT
After you have developed your long-term plans for the term or year, you have two choices about the next step. You can use the long-term schedule to begin the development of units—or you can develop the performance tasks. The recommendation here is to identify the performance tasks and then shape the unit so that your students with disabilities can do well when the assessment is made. This chapter explains the nature of performance tasks and then presents a process for designing a performance task.
