ABSTRACT
Competence has been identied by researchers as one important component of the trust relationships in schools. Specically, leaders who lack competence and allow others to remain incompetent break trust. Even leaders who intentionally try to build or repair trust will have a dicult time if they ignore incompetence. Ignoring the incompetence of others is like the proverbial wisdom that their actions will speak much louder than their words.
