ABSTRACT

Generally, the notion of being able to change one’s mind is a posi-tive attribute of leadership. Aer all, changing one’s mind allows one to adapt to new experiences and to implement new ideas and new strategies. Consider the saying, “If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butteries.” Certainly no one wants a world without butteries. However, when building trust in a school, a leader must be cautious about changing her mind too oen. Unfortunately, too many leaders engage in the trust-busting behavior of changing their decisions constantly, seemingly capriciously.
