ABSTRACT

We have worked for both drama queens and kings-gender does not seem to be a factor. Cindy, an admitted drama queen, monopolized meetings with her sta and with her colleagues. She talked much of the time and oered opinions and hearsay about the problems at hand. When the economy worsened, Cindy speculated and discussed the worst-case scenarios of teachers losing their jobs. She spoke with such authority that many teachers believed she had inside information about the school board’s future decisions. When the decisions were actually made, some positions were cut but no teachers lost their jobs, due to attrition. By this time, Cindy had moved on and created many more dramas.
