ABSTRACT

Humans cannot act any differently from what they value, believe, or perceive. Staff questionnaire results can tell people about needs for professional learning, team building, and motivation. Parent and student questionnaire results can point to needs that must also be considered in the continuous school improvement plan. Staff also assessed where it felt the school ranked on the Education for the Future Continuous Improvement Continuums. A one rating, located on the left of each Continuum, represents a school that has not yet begun to improve. Schoolwide data are being collected on student performance, attendance, and achievement; and student, staff, and parent questionnaires are being administered annually. Big River High School students, staff, and parents completed the same questionnaires, designed by a district committee, over the past five years. Parent questionnaire data were also disaggregated by native language. Staff members did not feel that their current questionnaires helped them know about their system.
