ABSTRACT
This chapter shows how Canyon View School District created an improvement plan, using the data gathered and analyzed, to close its gaps and implement its guiding principles to improve student learning across the district. The data showed Canyon View staff members that they needed to revisit the district vision.A system of fundamental motivating assumptions, principles, values, and tenets that leads to a tangible vision.The purpose of Canyon View School District is to help each student become a competent, productive, responsible, caring citizen. The Canyon View mission and vision will be supported through the wise use of resources to meet students’ needs regardless of interests and talents. Students, families, educators, and the community are committed to sharing the responsibility for creating a student-centered education community that acknowledges learning as a life-long process. Canyon View Schools will provide relevant, integrated and meaningful learning experiences that will prepare students for life in a rapidly changing, highly competitive world..
