ABSTRACT

This chapter shows how perceptual data helped Table Mountain Middle School improve its operations for all students. Table Mountain Middle School students, staffs, and parents completed Education for the Future questionnaires. Average responses to each item on the questionnaire were graphed and disaggregated by ethnicity, children's grade levels, number of children in the household, and number of children in the school. Overall, the average responses to the staff questionnaire indicated agreement with most of the items in the questionnaire. Perceptions data can help school personnel see the school from the perspective of students, parents, and staffs. These data can bring insight to student achievement results and provide all personnel with information for improvement that they would not see otherwise. Developing a plan that considers perceptual data, along with demographic, student learning, and school process data, helps ensure that multiple measures of data are included and progress in all these areas be monitored and evaluated.
