ABSTRACT
Although parochial schools have traditionally referred to any school with a religious identity, the term today is nearly synonymous with Catholic schools or schools managed by and/or serving a local church diocese, community, or other private organization. Parochial schools are typically housed philosophically (and quite often geographically) within a Catholic church; however, they are often welcoming to children of all denominations and backgrounds.
