Waldorf Schools

Nearly a hundred years ago, a prominent social reformer asked Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925) to design a new school for the children of workers at the Waldorf-Astoria Cigarette Factory in Stuttgart, Germany. At the time Steiner was asked to design and build this new “Waldorf” school in 1919, he was already prominent as a cultural philosopher, author, lecturer, and spiritualist.
