ABSTRACT

By now, you have probably noticed that one of the basic premises of this book is that teachers must emphasize the attention they give to individual student assessment results and the identification of individual instructional needs. This is also the foundation of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. Remember that the legislation requires adequate yearly progress to be made by all students, as well as each of eight subgroups (racial groups and those with special needs). If you use the concepts you have learned in this book, and address each of your students’ instructional needs, your students will be well on their way to meeting your state’s NCLB requirements, and more important, to a successful future.
