ABSTRACT

Summary

In this chapter I have presented and explained my concept of Data Pathways and the multiple ways in which they can be used to better illuminate student achievement within the context of a school district, building, or program. Each of the four pathways is composed of at least several lanes, each of which provides for more specific analysis of student achievement results. While not all pathways or lanes need to be used at all times, the more sophisticated a school becomes in making use of data in its decision making, the more use it will make of them. I have also briefly explored the relationship between “Data Pathways” and Dr. Bernhardt’s “Multiple Measures of Data.”
