ABSTRACT

Theorists and practitioners describe in several ways the types of assessments teachers can use to measure student achievement. This chapter provides an overview of these ways of describing them, and it provides examples of general assessment methods. As teachers begin to plan assessments, they need to think of themselves as assessors rather than activity designers. Figure 2.1 provides guidance.
