ABSTRACT

John Dewey wrote that there will be real progress in education when teachers become learners and learners become teachers. Teaching as learning works particularly well when the teacher is also an enthusiastic learner, and learning as teaching works well when students are given opportunities to become teachers. Teaching functions best when a symbiotic relationship develops between the desire to learn and the desire to share what one has learned. The I Can Teach strategy puts students into the dual role of learner and teacher. Students who are challenged to teach something they have learned to younger learners must take several things into account. I Can Teach is a perfect homework assignment in which students are asked to teach something they have learned in your class to their parents or brothers and sisters. Teachers teach and students learn is the popular misconception.
