ABSTRACT

Everybody wants to be good at what they do. And while some people may care more than others about recognition, everyone would like to be valued for what they do. More specifically, everyone would like to be held in high regard by those around them-family members, friends, and colleagues at work-and leaders are no exception. It would be great to be “liked” (whatever that means), but what we really want is to be respected. How can we earn that respect? And how do we know when we have it?
