ABSTRACT

Mark dreads writing assignments that are longer than a short sentence or two. He has lots of ideas in his head, yet it seems like they never make it down on paper the way he intends. His handwriting is sloppy and it always feels like a chore to take the time to write. He likes to talk in class and is a frequent participant in class discussions. His classmates view Mark as a leader. He always seems to be picking the teams at recess time, yet in class he avoids writing assignments. Like many of his peers, Mark is a reluctant writer who may someday become a resistant writer.
