ABSTRACT

That many educators are risk-averse should come as no surprise to anyone reading this book. It should also come as no surprise that such a temperament makes it exceedingly difficult to affect lasting change in schools. The implementation, and complete integration, of shared leadership in any school is just such a change. Steps must first be taken to overcome organizational inertia, to defrost the status quo. This requires shifts in perspectives, and in assumptions before there can be a real change.
