ABSTRACT
Perhaps the most important feature of the preobservation conference is determining the focus for the upcoming classroom observation. Why is the focus so important? This is a complex question with a multifaceted answer. The focus serves to promote dialogue between the supervisor and the teacher, help the teacher identify a growth area, and help the supervisor identify what concrete data to gather and what observation tools to use.
