Model for Narrowing the Achievement Gap for Native Students from Middle and High School to College Graduation

The purpose of this chapter is to build upon prior chapters in Section II of this volume on a developmental approach to merging cultural sensitivity and evidence-based practice. The earlier chapters deal with preschool and early childhood models, which are desirable and necessary, but not sufficient. Ongoing efforts during middle school, high school, and higher education are also needed to narrow the achievement gap.
