ABSTRACT
Spoken language often contains incomplete utterances, false starts, repetitions, corrections, etc. All such phenomena are classified as examples of maze behaviour. The term ‘maze’ is taken from Loban (1961), the image behind it being of a person thrashing about trying to find the correct verbal means for expressing what he wants to express. The name is not important, however.
