A business interested in buildings and environments that minimise energy use and carbon emissions is likely to want to run its firm to achieve the same aims. It is difficult to practise in the modern world without an environmental policy, and so there is probably one already in place. There is no standard format for such a policy, but there is an expectation that it should cover the key green issues in a short and approachable format. An EMS is a formal means of ensuring c, is similar to a quality or safety management system and can ultimately be certified through ISO 14001, the BS 8555 Seren Scheme or the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme. External certification of an EMS will bring additional credibility to your business and may help meet qualification criteria for some client organisations.
