ABSTRACT

The history of water policy development is often fraught with multiple complexities, relating to issues of ownership, governance and climate change. 7KH GL൶FXOWLHV DVVRFLDWHG ZLWK FKDQJLQJ ZDWHU SROLFLHV ZKLFK DWWHPSW WR address these issues have been much deliberated in the international literature ZKLFKH[DPLQHVZDWHUJRYHUQDQFHDQGSROLF\HQWUHSUHQHXUVKLSHJ%LVZDV and Tortajada, 2010; Crase, 2008; Crow, 2010; Head, 2010; Meijerink and +XLWHPD0RUH UHFHQW OLWHUDWXUH LQ WKLVDUHD LVHVSHFLDOO\FRQFHUQHG with the need for innovation which acknowledges the multiple, and often FRQÀLFWLQJVRFLDOHFRQRPLFDQGHQYLURQPHQWDOSULRULWLHVRIZDWHUVXSSO\,Q SDUWLFXODU 0RRUH HW DO SURYLGH D FRPSUHKHQVLYH RYHUYLHZ RI LQQRYDWLRQVLQZDWHUSROLF\GHYHORSLQJDW\SRORJ\ZKLFKLGHQWL¿HVQRWRQO\ WKH LQÀXHQFHRI WHFKQRORJLFDO FKDQJHVEXW DOVR WKH UHTXLUHPHQW IRU social innovation.
