An inequality is any expression involving one of the symbols <, >, ≤ or ≥

p<q means p is less than q p>q means p is greater than q p≤q means p is less than or equal to q p≥q means p is greater than or equal to q

(i) When a quantity is added or subtracted to both sides of an inequality, the inequality still remains.
