ABSTRACT

Digital content is domestically protected under this US copyright protection: FBI Anti-Piracy Warning. The unauthorized reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. Copyright infringement, including infringement without monetary gain, is investigated by the FBI and is punishable by up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000. A copyright is the protection of a person's creation, whether it is in digital arts, literature, music, or other media. The copyright protection is immediate; as soon as the media is created, it is protected. Proving that you created it first is the tricky part. The content becomes subject to that country's specific laws, and it may also be furthered protected under an international treaty known as the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, although there is no guarantee. So, the best way to protect themselves is to make sure not to leave any of their personal content behind once the show ends.
