ABSTRACT

A media server's primary purpose is to play video content in a show. Therefore, the server has to have some digital content on it. All digital content comes from one of the following sources: Stock content loaded on the server; Content provided by client; Content purchased from a content provider; and Content you create from scratch. The media server can only display the content at the same quality it was created. If poorly rendered content is loaded on the server, then poorly rendered content will be what is output by the server. There are many important factors in the creation process that have direct impact on the playback performance of a piece of content. They include: Image resolution, Image compression, Format, and Frame rate. A video clip differs from a still image in that it contains information for multiple images that, when played back in order, produce a moving image.
