ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to test differences in and similarities of certain underlying values that are associated with the decision process and examine their consequences on future business dealings between and within West German (i.e., Federal Republic of Germany) and U.S. firms, using a sample of business students in each country who are likely to be future managers. In addition, potential influences on future West German managers and their decisions in the West German and European business arena are discussed. To clarify the values chosen for study, each is briefly explained and the research instrument presented. Next, the research methods are explained and the analysis of the data presented. Finally, the results are discussed and some potential research areas are noted. We begin with a brief discussion of the concept of values.
