ABSTRACT

According to Burton this tomb was a 'small catacomb behind Yanni's house'. Wilkinson also places it behind Yanni's. Hay says that it was 'a tomb below Mons. Dupuy's house'. Prudhoe calls it a 'tomb at the end of the lower line'. Champollion describes it as being 'situe sur la montagne', and he gave it the number 31. Rosellini attributed the tomb to the father of the actual owner, who also occurs in it. Lepsius called it no. 49. Porter & Moss conclude that the tomb was probably situated near TT 69 of Menna. Mohammed Saleh correctly identified the owner of the tomb as being identical with the owner of tomb no. C4, the name and title occurring on fallen ceiling fragments; in a few inscriptions on a small scale from the walls; and on cones presently lying in the tomb. The mud plaster of the ceiling has fallen down everywhere, though chunks of it survive on the floor.
