ABSTRACT

Computer bibliographic searching has become a prominent feature of most libraries today. Portable terminals, VDU's (video display units), high speed printers and microcomputers represent an established and important access point for our information consuming society. To help satisfy this craving, databases and databanks with which the hardware interfaces have proliferated to an all time high. Yet, ease of access to the great variety databases does not truly alleviate the information access problems which have plagued individuals in most every field. Unfortunately, the mere availability of database information does not ensure the quality of the ultimate product.
