ABSTRACT
I end facing a paradox: T have questioned "virtual reality" in this book-yet I spend much of my life in it. I have pointed out all the imminent dangers of the high tech-yet I depend on it. American society could no longer function without computers. We have hold of the electrical wire, the current is on, and we can't let go. Ah, the ironies of our new age.
