ABSTRACT

My fourteen-year-old daughter Jamie was standing at the door waiting for me to return. Her eyes were red and swollen; tears rolled down her cheeks. In her fist, she held a piece of paper that she waved in my face. “I found this in your desk. It sounds like you’re going to kill yourself. Is that what you’re planning? Tell me the truth!” She was angry, scared, and determined to get some answers.
