ABSTRACT

Ghana is a West African country located in the middle of the Guinea Coast. It is bordered to the east by Togo and to the west by Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). It also shares a borders with Burkina Faso to the north, while the Gulf of Guinea forms its southern border. Ghana's location provides the country with comparative advantages over its neighboring Sahel countries in the production of tropical food products such as cereals, root crops, fruits and vegetables, as well as in the processing of salt. Other things being equal, there must be good market opportunities for these products in the nearby countries.
