ABSTRACT

This chapter explores real-life questions and issues that lesbians have about dating, sex, love and relationship longevity. It analyses the relationship between Maureen and her lesbian partner and continues to go round and round on the subject of solitude. An acquaintance of mine is in the throes of a new relationship. True to form, Maureen got off the plane in her usual openhearted, enthusiastic way and greeted the author warmly and lovingly. The author definitely did not pull it off. She tried to explain her feelings to Maureen. The more she distanced, the more the author wanted to make all of it her fault. The author went to bed as the Evil Twin. Keeping my love for Maureen alive, passionate, honest, and open requires deepening the author's relationship with herself. The author's love for her partner inspires her to see the difficulties that arise in their relationship as opportunities to become more self-aware and self-responsible.
